New PROTO 2000 Heritage Steam Collection USRA
Heavy 2-10-2s are perfect for handling long, heavy
freights. Based on United States Railway
Administration designs from W.W.I, they had larger,
heavier boilers and drivers for use on heavily
built lines with few weight restrictions. Following
the war, several roads that needed big power
ordered copies of these successful USRA locos. Many
USRA Heavy 2-10-2s ran until the end of steam, so
they'll look right at home on your post W.W.I pike.
They have all the performance features you expect
from PROTO steam locos including a five-pole,
skew-wound motor, and they're loaded with applied
details. USRA Heavy 2-10-2s are available with or
without Quantum sound and DCC decoder, and
sound-equipped versions will run just fine on
standard DC layouts with no modifications.
