SD40-2W Locomotives
The Canadian National Railway acquired 123 of
the SD40-2W locomotives, numbered 5241-5363. The
InterMountain Railway Co. model is manufactured
with the 4-window safety cat, the snow shields over
the air inlets, and the distinctive stairwells and
handrails. The model features include: etched metal
details; wire grab irons; laser sharp paint and
lettering; and Kadee® couplers. Non-Sound
models will have a factory installed DCC decoder
capable of operating on analog DC or DCC. Sound
models will have a factory installed
SoundTraxx® Tsunami® DCC decoder.
